New Creations, and in a Previous Life

Finally I have done some sewing, a quick look at some of the cushions I have been making up today after Liesa put together some colours for me. I still have a few to go but will be taking these off to Handmade Heaven tomorrow.

The second part of this post is about my former crafting life, when I was soooooo into folk art it consumed me, Yep, I lived and breathed it, attended a class or two every week and couldn't get enough of it.
I haven't painted now for probably about 14 years. I can see the date on the secrataire and this was a piece I painted kind of towards the end of my folk art career! Actually I cant even believe I painted it in 1994.
I love the style the small box is painted in too.

I wonder if vintage chenille will be my last true crafty love ?

Loving the cushions...they do look so different in a photo...Can't wait to have them in Handmade Heaven soon.
OMG...They are so old those folk art things. I remember that you used to sit in your "craft" room and do your painting...I also remember the huge amount of different shaped timber you had lying around the house and and the dust from sandpapering them...Loving the chenille much better I have to say..KISSES

I remember these pieces too... and you going off to your folk art classes..ahhh memories... instead of dust everywhere, it's now chenille fringing - gotta love it!

I'm wondering what other surprise talents you've been hiding. I love those birds.

Oh pretty cushions, I did see Leisas colour choice today and am very impressed..these are lovely too...I think HH needs a big lounge chair full of cushions...of course it wouldn't fit but can't you just imagine it?
I love the strawberries on the box, how gorgeous and I don't think chenille will be your last crafting love....I am sure you will find another love in years to come, this year is a chenille year though!
Thanks for your sweet comments about my arrival in HH....so nice.
See you soon,
Kiss NOises LInda

Gorgeous cushions... My aunty was really into folk art back in the early 90's too. Its was all the rage wasn't it! Lovely pieces though :)

Gosh. Secret talents. I think most crafty people have tried many different things along the way. You kind of get a notion to try something different from time to time. It would start to feel like a proper job if you always did the same thing.
Hey, I wonder if you could combine the two. Vintage furniture, chenille upholstery. You would need a much bigger stall though at your markets...

Gorgeous folk art Miriam. I too had a 'thing' for it in the early ninety's. Yours would leave mine for dead though - and I can hardly show any of it as I seem to give most of it away!

I used to live, breath, sell and teach folk art for many, many years too Miriam. Isn't it funny how things change with time.

I love chenille. Especially on little boys for some reason. Although, those cushions look wonderful. I remember my grandmother having a chenille coverlet. Thanks for the memory :D
