I have branched out ever so slightly and I am putting together some scapbooking/applique packs.
You can purchase them from Stick'n giggle, Handmade Heaven or on my stall at the markets here and here.
Jodie has done a couple of pages already and here's what they look like.
They include a piece of vintage chenille ( always! ), a yo yo, fabric, buttons, trims which maybe ribbons or lace or raffia or whatever suits and looks good ! There may be beads and tiny baubles I have collected along the way too.
Now that this first lot is finished they are ready to make their appearance tomorrow.
They are $10 each.

Hoping...
I am hoping that in about 6 hours in the slow cooker, this will turn into the most fabulous vegetable soup!
I cleaned out the crisper and found leeks, ( my favourite ), a swede, the usual pumpkin, carrots, beans, celery, zuccini, no potato in this one and I will add some mushrooms, lentils or cannellini beans and possibly some tomatoes closer to the finish. Then there a half packet of pan bread left from pasta the other night so that will finish it all off nicely! I'll be back for show and tell later!
P.S There were a few unworthies in the crisper as well !

Babys gone a hunting !
There is a rhyme that is half in the deep recess of my scatterbrain...I'm referring to BUNTING!
Enlighten me please if you know this rhyme !
Anyway, I have been wanting to make vintage chenille bunting for yonks and the last couple of days I have found my bunting making mojo and I'm soooo pleased with the way it has all turned out.
You can find my new bunting in my madeit store and my etsy store.

Vintage Sheet Fat Quarter Swap
Do you buy vintage sheets to use in your sewing or craft?
Are you finding them harder to get and lacking the variety you want or need ?
If you are interested in joining in on The Australian Vintage Sheet Fat Quarter Swap, then pop over here and join in, I'm sure there's room for plenty more swappers.
The more people the bigger variety I say!
Check out the gorgeous pile of fat quarters in the side bar.
Be nice in a frame in the sewing room I think...
Are you keeping up to date on all the goings on over at The Handmade Expo blog?
If your chosen craft is mounting up and you are having trouble storing all the goodies, then why not consider having a stall ?
We have at least two bus loads of willing shoppers coming from the other side of Brisbane to our May market, they are just dying to see your work ! (As well as all of our regular customers too ! )
100's and 100's (etc etc) of people come each month especially to buy handmade goodies, they appreciate what you do, they see the value in what you do, they know they are buying something made with love and passion and something individual, not mass produced somewhere overseas. Our customers like to keep their spending local when they can.
The Steam train will be making it appearance too. This has proven to be so popular with visitors to The Handmade Expo, they are already like a part of The Handmade Expo family.
Thanks to everyone who joined in on my Facebook giveaway.
I have been busy this week restocking my etsy and madeit stores, pop over when you have a chance and have a browse....

Two more sleeps people !
Thats it, I'm nearly outa here for the monthly pilgrimage to The Handmade Expo !
I hop off to fulfill my duties on the Friday , the day before each market, to do the Kindy run and help (?) Liesa out in Handmade Heaven the day before the market. The phone just goes insane with last minute bookings, requests and enquiries.
If you haven't ever been or just need a gentle reminder when it's on each month, you can keep up to date on The Handmade Expo blog and Facebook page.
This Saturdays market is shaping up to be a bit more unique with lots of new stallholders, some coming from as far away as Byron Bay, some new Gourmet Fresh too which I know you'll love and some new craft peeps to help your fix of Handmade.
Dont forget Mothers Day too as our next market falls after Mothers Day, so this is the month for MUM.
Cant wait to see you there.
P.S Dont forget to become a follower on the blog and a fan on Facebook so you wont miss a market.
P.P.S Feel free to pass on to your on line buddies to spread the word.
P.P.P.S Whilst on the blog, why not fill out the customer questionaire for feedback on our market.

New Creations, and in a Previous Life
Finally I have done some sewing, a quick look at some of the cushions I have been making up today after Liesa put together some colours for me. I still have a few to go but will be taking these off to Handmade Heaven tomorrow.
I haven't painted now for probably about 14 years. I can see the date on the secrataire and this was a piece I painted kind of towards the end of my folk art career! Actually I cant even believe I painted it in 1994.
I love the style the small box is painted in too.
I wonder if vintage chenille will be my last true crafty love ?

Transformation via paint !
I'm on the ball early this morning, I guess I should really be at the gym, It's all about priorities right ?
Ok well as promised here's some pics of the finished painting and decorating ! Just as a side note , We were going to go totally white and shabby, but we couldn't bring ourselves to do it !
This colour does make the rooms look smaller, but thats just an optical allusion, we still have the same amount of room, it just LOOKS cosey!
This colour is called Bracken Brown and just goes with all our wooden furniture, lots of wooden frames of family and some shabby chic bits and pieces. ( my mum once said that coming into our home was like a trip to the museum ! Whatever did she mean ? ) I guess I haven't really been able to really catch how dark the colour is in the pictures, it is really more like the colour of a good strong skinny latte !

Being productive in a non craft way
Oh how I wish it was being productive in a crafty way, it wasn't meant to be.
Having said that I managed to enlist some design advise from one of my non crafty daughters ( it skipped a generation ! ) I was having a bit of a creative block so I asked Liesa , if she could put some fabrics together for me in what she thought were good matches and I'd make some new cushions.
We ended up with nine combinations. But the best part was, Liesa wanted to make one of the cushions, telling me that if it didn't sell in her designated time, she would keep it for her little boys room !
Any way the good part is, Liesa has now made something !
YAY, Yipee ! Wahoo! Woot Woot !
It's a day that will go down in history and I must remember to write it in my journal! You can take a look HERE and it will be in Handmade Heaven this week sometime.
Tomorrow I'll show you the awesome job my son-in-law ( SIL ) did on painting the lounge, dining, kitchen and hallway, but here's a sneak peak ....
The hall was green, the lounge a bad cream and the kitchen/dining a horrible aqua, mr bubba said it matched the pool, that you can see from the kitchen/dining windows......ooooooh YUK! I dont think so !
This is the third house SIL has painted for us on the inside ( we aren't moving again, I simply wont allow it ! ) and I cannot get away from the colour I have chosen for all three ! ( although I am having plain white in the bathroom this time ! )
Anyhoo, I'll take you on a tour of the finished product tomorrow ( after I do some cleaning up and some decorating. )
I'll pop the kettle on if you would like to come over tomorrow!
