Off for a few days R & R

Although it's not actually "our" holiday as such, Handmadies has invited us for three nights at Noosa and I cant wait to relax in one of our favourite places in this great land, The other one being Melbourne ofcourse ! mmmm We have all been here before but Micky and fam are making it an annual pilgrimage. It's such a great place to be with kids and adults alike.
When we get back, the following day I'm at Gatton setting up for Christmas in the Country, so I will be absent for a week or so and having withdrawals from you all by then, no doubt.

Christmas in the country at Gatton

Yes this year I have been invited to attend Christmas in the Country, in Gatton as a stallholder to sell my bubbachenille goodies. I have been working madly towards this for a few weeks now as I am led to believe it is a shopping frenzy and one must have mountains of stock !









I have added some supplies into this market too for the crafts person/sewer, so you will be able to purchase vintage chenille fat quarters in lots of different styles, colours and prices, depending on rarity ( as in how rare they are ! ) I will also have some cotton fabric pieces that no longer take my fancy and lots of little packets of vintage buttons.









I will also have a range of gorgeous chenille teddies, There are four different teddies ranging in size and price and all have been wrapped with a singlet included as well some have a burp cloth or bib. A fitting gift for a newborn.









Naturally all my usual items will be in abundance ( hopefully, as you never really know when you have enough for a market ! ) Lots of heat packs large and small and lots of skirts and pants. Included are some christmas pants, skirts, singlets and t shirts. I also have a small range of ladies christmas singlets and t shirts that are embellished with yo yo's.

Do you see the groovy "wireless" mr bubba bought me for the studio ? My next lot of pants in the ever popular size two getting ready for the machine! So much preparation before the finished product! Check out my Flickr page for the finished items.

Any way if you can make it to Gatton on Friday 6th November or Saturday 7th you are sure to get a head start on your Christmas shopping. This market has been held annually for 19 years and has 60 stalls of lovely handmade goodies. Morning and afternoon teas are available as well as light lunches. Starts at 9 am and is open til 7pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday.

With the Aussie dollar the way it is, I've been shopping! 5 times even !! Check this out...

Isn't it delicious ? I wonder if it will replace the other pink one I bought once and couldn't bear to cut up, so it's on the spare bed, or the white one I bought another time that I couldn't cut up and it's on my bed...mmmm what to do ?

Thanks also to everyone who made it to The Handmade Expo on Saturday, alas we didn't break the record for Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. It wasn't for lack of trying thats for sure! We had fun doing it anyway and there maybe another attempt around Christmas time!
There were lots of new stalls and we all started our Christmas shopping, even Mr bubba blew the budget!

Trying to find the most delicious bowl to put all the names in to draw a winner and when I took pics, it nearly blinded me ! ( remember I cant turn my flash off ! )

The delicious bowl came from Lilly Cottage.. It's pink and heart shaped so there couldn't be anything nicer!

Starting to think about the silly season!

So I finished the navy and pale lemon heat packs, well I ran out of wheat so they are all stitched up ready to be filled at least !

Then I started using these.......

Sorry the photo is a bit bright, ( I couldn't turn my flash off because I couldnt figure out how ! ) Any way I wanted to start on some Christmas things and here's what's happened so far..

Then I did these with Vintage Chenille stars in sizes 1 - 4

They'll be nice for Christmas, not too over the top and wearable after Christmas too!

Whipping up some more Vintage Chenille heat !

For those amongst us who dont know my products all that well I have to tell you that my most popular item is heat packs.

I have a fornightly order from a chemist and I lug them to all my markets..

They have wheat in them and are made from vintage chenille ( ofcourse ! )

I do an applique heart or star on each one also.

Todays finished batch are dusty pink, tomorrows are navy blue and creamy lemon.

I will have a big variety of colours at my stall on Saturday at the Handmade Expo and they are always in stock at Handmade Heaven.

The small are $13 and the large are $18.

That Creative Monster at it again !

When it bites me I have to make things, It will be great to have lots of new things available for The Handmade Expo on Saturday. If you are in South East Queensland on Saturday you are missing out if you dont come to The Handmade Expo.

Not only are there over 100 stalls of handmade deliciousness, but there is a world record attempt at 12.30 for Heads and Shoulders, Knees and Toes. The kids will love it and you'll love all the handmade goodies on offer !

All that was in the vege garden when we arrived here a few weeks ago were these..

They wont help me with knowing what to have for dinner tonight but they look great dont they ? I put the garlic in the laundry in a basket ( outdoor laundry ) and when I walked in a couple of hours later, boy it smelt divine! The tomatoes I'll just munch on every time I walk past them !

This is what I've been doing today, I finished off nine pants and skirts and now I'll have to start on some more bags and some christmas themed goodies for the next Handmade Expo

on Saturday 17th October.

1 st Blogaversary giveaway

My actual blog 1st anniversary was on the 29th September, so I'm a fraction late but you know what they say ? BLTN.

Thanks to everyone that has been with me on this blogging journey, I didn't even want a blog in the beginning but was talked into it by Liesa of HH fame and also THE fame! Now I talk people into blogging and I am too hooked for my own good!

There is the latest Mixtape zine, a new purse tissue pack, ( the prototype ) a gift tag and some yo yos, Lots of co ordinating fabric for scapbooking or applique projects, an aqua vintage chenille fat quarter, a wrist key fob thingy, some bubba chenille coasters and lots of vintage buttons oh and a bottle bag ( put your cold bottle of water in it and it wont drip all over your handbag or car). The green bedspread in the background is not included and is open to the whole wide world !
