Disaster struck on Friday when I put my sewing machine and overlocker in for a service (ten years over due!), well my machine is purring like a kitten, but alas! the overlocker has gone to Janome heaven. I never realised that the poor thing was 20 years old!! ( I was thinking it was about 10 or 12!!) So now I am the proud mother of a brand new babylock!!, Yay !!! The difference is amazing and I'm telling myself I will have regular services from here on in, (at least every two years!!)

I visited glenrose patchwork in Warwick yesterday, OMG it is the best patchwork shop I have been in for some time http://glenrosepatchwork.com They have a B & B too with the quaintest little cottages. They also host retreats, fully catered for, (the smell of the cooking was divine, I wanted to stay for lunch!!), maybe some of us should organise something, meet up, spend a night or two, sew, do a winery trip etc.. Having the shop on hand could be dangerous. I couldn't resist some delicious fabric....

workspace challenge

Robyn from hotfudge8.blogspot.com issued all the Brisstyle girls brisstyle.blogspot.com a challenge to photograph our workspace, (no cleaning up allowed!) I did a bad bad thing and started to work on the dining table, so at the moment I have two workspaces (shoosh dont tell Mr bubba, I'll clean up before he discovers the truth!)

bubba is back !

Yes I have finally surfaced from the "design studio" (as it's now called thanks to Trish, and yes the sign on the front door was a good idea!) I have started to list some more creations on my etsy store, http://www.bubbachenille.etsy.com/

It was starting to look a little jaded, but it seems as soon as I do something new, it sells at a market. Hence thats why I have been in lock down mode making millions of new things and cutting out so I can make millions of more things.

I have so many BIG market events on this year so I am trying to get ahead, if ever there is such a thing!

It seems I have been absent from my blog for ages, but have been keeping up with what you have all been doing for the bushfire victims and I applaud you all.

At The Handmade Expo we too are getting into that with part of our entry fee being donated to the cause and also we are asking all stallholders if they would like to donate one item to a raffle. We are thinking we need to get 3 or 4 BIG baskets to put everything in and maybe 20 or so in each basket. What a lovely raffle it should be, with probably 3 or 4 draws. I wouldn't mind winning it myself and it's a great way to donate if you haven't already done so.

I'm not sure on proper blog ettiquette, but would love to say hi and thank the lovlies who are following me (pressure pressure yikes!!) hope you dont get too bored!

The Handmade Expo & bubbachenille roadtrip

Well last Friday we set off to Goondiwindi, we had a great time and everyone we spoke to was very receptive and cant wait for the Handmade Expo on 4th April.

Oh So Busy !

We went out on the new boat on Saturday and stopped in the village at Somerset Dam at a lovely little cafe, owned by Linda, it's only been open six months or so and Linda is living the dream. Good luck to her we say...Great name too, "Catchment Cafe" great slogan too.. "the best dam food around"...http://www.catchmentcafe.com.au/. If you are looking for somewhere to go for Sunday drive, the dam is lovely, the village is also lovely, quaint and picturesque, lots of birdlife, koalas (if you're lucky enough) camping, boating all that stuff.

Have also been very busy sewing and creating making new bubbachenille lovelies, one has already been baggsed by daughter number two, (is that allowable?)

I think I might even bags one of these myself !

Dates for the Handmade Expo until Dec 2009

The Handmade Expo has just released all it dates right up until the end of the year, (although there could be a few more thrown in here and there !)

As of August the venue has changed too, to the Ipswich Turf Club, on Brisbane Rd, Bundamba.

Its close to rail and other public transport too. It will grow massivly here and still be all Handmade.
