Ok I'm done !

The tree is up and decorated, my fave colours...pink and gold!

The pressies are wrapped and under the tree !

I made all my gift tags from last years Christmas cards!

Mr bubba had to get his pressie early cos we need it for over the holidays!

This one was a hundred years old and we just couldn't go on with it any more !

Then because everything seems to be in order, cleaned and ticked off my list (well until I need to get all the last minute foodie things , like Townsville Tigers and Sweetlip) I thought I'd retreat to my studio and get creative.

Yes it is a door stop, I only had enough wheat left in my stash to fill half of it, so I put rice in to fill the rest and lots of Lavender, mmmmm smells divine.

Who knows if I'll get to post again, being so busy and all, So I would really like to wish you all a tuely lovin, happy and peace filled Christmas.

I have virtually met so many wonderful blogettes this year and wish we could share some Christmas cheer together, you know in real life ! I know there is a blogette meetup in Melbourne next year and wish I could go too, maybe we'll have to have another blogette lunch sooner than later !

I finally put something on my "bucket list" too !

I want to go to America with a group of like minded people, people who love craft, patchwork, quilt shows and craft exhibitions, who love buying fabric etc etc, Maybe for two weeks, maybe a tour, any one else have this on their list ?

I won this !

Last week this giveaway win arrived in the mail. Cherie from " I'm over it " was most generous in her giveaway, thanks again Cherie, and drew my name as the winner ! I also received a bag of vintage laces which I am going to put to use in the New Year in some new projects I have baking in my brain!

I certainly wont be "stuck" on any "how to's in my sewing future ! The book is massive and covers everything one would ever need to know about sewing ! Maybe I should pass this on to my daughters, who cant sew a button on ! That's what mums are for right ?

Whilst I'm here I must tell you about last Saturdays Market ( brought to you by the Handmade expo ).

I think we had our biggest crowd ever as when I opened the doors at 8am, I couldn't get across to the other side where my stall was for all the lovely customers. There were so many new faces which was lovely to see, I'm sure they will be converted now ! Everyone leaving seemed to have an arm full of purchases too, Our stallholders will be happy !

It's a while before our next Market on the 20 th February so this will give all our stallholders a chance to restock, redesign and create lots of new things over the break, ready for a bigger and better year ahead.

The Market next year will see lots of new initiatives evolve to keep it moving forward and encouraging lots of new customers along, who may not have experienced the whole Handmade world yet! ( hard to believe that there are some who haven't ) The Market will be offering something too good to pass up ! So please watch this space or start following The Markets Blog so you can be totally up to date on whats going to be happening, all the dates etc.

A huge break between markets mean you may be having withdrawal symptoms for handmade items, Pop over to Handmade Heaven on line or pop down to The Old Flour Mill, Brisbane St, Ipswich to shop in person. You will find the greatest variety of handmade goods on offer from many different people from all over Australia (moi included )

The whole year down and one to go !

Well Saturdays Brisstyle market went beautifully, thanks to the girls organising, they did a wonderful job as usual.

I am still recovering and can hardly look at my sewing machine at the moment! I will be at The Handmade Expo this coming Saturday, 12th December 8am - 2pm, Ipswich Turf club, Bundamba.

This is my last market for the year, then no more until Feb, when I'll probably be chomping at the bit to get there. At the moment though, (sigh )... well it has been a long year. I have put that marquee up about 20 times and I'll have to pull everything I have inside to do it one more time! I am excited though, Just on the inside at the moment, I'm still a bit tired but by Saturday I'll be rearing to go !

Liesa from Handmade Heaven will be having a stall next to me as well so pop by and say hi ! and check out all the handmade lovlies we have between us ! Say hi to Micky too from Handmadies.

Here's a couple of pics from Saturday.

Mark this in your diary !

With The Handmade Expo over for November I can now work towards making more beautiful stock for the Brisstyle Christmas market on Saturday 5th Dec. I have some wonderful vintage chenilles on hand, some delicious ones sourced from America with the dollar the way it is at the moment, it's too tempting. It does mean though that I am sourcing some really unusual, pretty and super awesome chenilles.

I will have a great display of your favourite heat packs in large and small and some other different things I have been working on. Here's a prototype, needs some tweeking but is coming along nicely!

I thought this pink and white one was a " keeper" until, they kept getting delivered and the bed was raised by about six inches of single layered beautiful vintage chenille. Alas I had to cut into it !

Look what I have won...

And I have to tell you, I couldn't be happier !

It is an easy wear skirt from http://www.lillipillilane.blogspot.com/ and I am so appreciative as I already have one skirt so I can vouch for their comfort and deliciousness ! Thank you so much X O

THE HANDMADE EXPO,A GREAT DAY!

I am happy to say that the Handmade Expo was another great success... this was the biggest yet, we were proud to welcome 132 stallholders this month...

IPSWICH'S BIGGEST and BEST MARKET...

I am certainly proud of this and I know all our stallholders are too, so a huge thank you to our wonderful, loyal stallholders who stay with us every month... we really appreciate it.

Now, to our customers - we had a fabulous day. We thank you for braving the heat, as it was a scorcher but we thank you for coming every month to support our local handmadies and the BEST MARKET in town! Plus, we are pretty certain you crossed a lot off your christmas list (I know I did)!

With our free entry now and forever that just puts the cherry on top!

You aren't going to want to miss the last Handmade Expo for the year on Saturday 12th December. Known as our Xmas Extravaganza you definately wont be dissapointed, and you'll be able to finish off your list !

Thank you all once again... without your support this would not be the BEST MARKET to visit once a month at the loveliest, relaxed outdoor venue in town.

Brush with fame for a fleeting moment !

Yesterday Liesa and I had lunch with Ray Martin, He has had an awesome life, not that it's nearly over or anything, he still wants to interview the Queen !

His autobiography ( which I started last night ) will be a great read as he has met so many famous people and seen so many things all over the world. Such an interesting, humble man...

The day before I received these photos of some of my clothes from Anklebiters, a new stockist of my clothes. Amazing what a professional photographer can do isn't it ? I have put them into flickr as well if you want to look at some of my other creations too.

These styles and much more will be available this Saturday at The Handmade Expo, Brisbane Rd, Bundamba at the Ipswich Turf Club along with 136 stalls of Handmade Lovliness,

Our biggest market ever, just in time for some awesome Christmas shopping !

Also available all the time at Handmade Heaven in Ipswich.

New Vintage Chenille Bathmats in stock

Hi there,

I have recovered enough from the two day market at Gatton over the weekend to start sewing again.

Yesterday I spent the whole day cutting up vintage chenille bedspreads ( It's what I do ! ) so I could start a production line of sewing for the next Handmade Expo and the Brisstyle Christmas market.

So after a slow start I finally got into it and managed to finish 10 bathmats in preparation for markets and re stocking Handmade Heaven tomorrow.

Thursday is "back into it day " for me, with 50 of one thing ready to go ( show you when finished ), about 30 of another, and then I want time to create new things!

Dont forget to go over to The Handmade Expo blog and leave a comment to increase the giveaway amount.

Doesn't matter if you cant make it to the market and you live way away, The idea is the more comments , the more dollar value the winner gets to spend at the market. It increases by one dollar for each different blogette though, but in the spirit of blogging and handmadewomanship ( that must be a word, if not I am copywriting it ! ) wouldn't you want everyone to leave a comment on the chance it could be YOU winning the loot ! ( and sending us broke maybe ! Ha Ha )

While you are over there you might find an interesting looking blog you'd like to take a look at too !

Off for a few days R & R

Although it's not actually "our" holiday as such, Handmadies has invited us for three nights at Noosa and I cant wait to relax in one of our favourite places in this great land, The other one being Melbourne ofcourse ! mmmm We have all been here before but Micky and fam are making it an annual pilgrimage. It's such a great place to be with kids and adults alike.
When we get back, the following day I'm at Gatton setting up for Christmas in the Country, so I will be absent for a week or so and having withdrawals from you all by then, no doubt.

Dont forget The Handmade Expo is having a great giveaway, please pop over and leave a comment, every different blogger who comments increases the giveaway, so even you you aren't in this area, if you comment it pushes up the prize. So please comment and help whoever wins to win a really really great prize!!

See you in a week when I'm refreshed, then exhausted!

Yo Yo's

I have been meaning to post about Yo Yo's since my give away when I had some comments from some lovely peeps not knowing what they were. Here's some pics

These are an inch and a half

And these are tiny, maybe three quarters of an inch.

If you google " How to make a suffolk puff " there are heaps of tutorials.

Blog Christmas Lunch Meetup

Don't forget blogettes about our Christmas get together being held in Laidley (between Ipswich and Toowoomba) on Monday 30th November...

It's bring a plate, a handmade prezzy, your swimmers and a sense of adventure for meeting new people... well, not completely new because we have met you on blogland!

So, please check your diaries and if you are free to come if you could just email or leave a comment on a post and I will get back to you.

Hope to meet you face to face soon.

The Handmade Expo giveaway

The Handmade Expo giveaway is still open for all you blogettes out there who haven't entered yet.

Even if you don't live locally and can't make it to the expo - leave a comment so the $ voucher increases for the peeps that can make.. we would love to giveaway a good amount of $ to spend at either the November or December markets.

The post is here... so go and check it out and leave a comment...

It would be great if you could also blog about the giveaway too!

Christmas in the country at Gatton

Yes this year I have been invited to attend Christmas in the Country, in Gatton as a stallholder to sell my bubbachenille goodies. I have been working madly towards this for a few weeks now as I am led to believe it is a shopping frenzy and one must have mountains of stock !

I have added some supplies into this market too for the crafts person/sewer, so you will be able to purchase vintage chenille fat quarters in lots of different styles, colours and prices, depending on rarity ( as in how rare they are ! ) I will also have some cotton fabric pieces that no longer take my fancy and lots of little packets of vintage buttons.

I will also have a range of gorgeous chenille teddies, There are four different teddies ranging in size and price and all have been wrapped with a singlet included as well some have a burp cloth or bib. A fitting gift for a newborn.

Naturally all my usual items will be in abundance ( hopefully, as you never really know when you have enough for a market ! ) Lots of heat packs large and small and lots of skirts and pants. Included are some christmas pants, skirts, singlets and t shirts. I also have a small range of ladies christmas singlets and t shirts that are embellished with yo yo's.

Do you see the groovy "wireless" mr bubba bought me for the studio ? My next lot of pants in the ever popular size two getting ready for the machine! So much preparation before the finished product! Check out my Flickr page for the finished items.

Any way if you can make it to Gatton on Friday 6th November or Saturday 7th you are sure to get a head start on your Christmas shopping. This market has been held annually for 19 years and has 60 stalls of lovely handmade goodies. Morning and afternoon teas are available as well as light lunches. Starts at 9 am and is open til 7pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday.

This arrived today Yummo!

When you have to go to the P.O to pick up a parcel, you know it has to be good... Then you get this accross the counter..

With the Aussie dollar the way it is, I've been shopping! 5 times even !! Check this out...

Isn't it delicious ? I wonder if it will replace the other pink one I bought once and couldn't bear to cut up, so it's on the spare bed, or the white one I bought another time that I couldn't cut up and it's on my bed...mmmm what to do ?
