A Pink-a thon

My creative day has been worth it, it's been building up in side me for a while now and I have some new fabrics too.

I seem to get a creative thingy happening when I am working with new fabics. I still love my stash, but sometimes it just needs an injection of something new to inspire me, hence we can never have too many fabrics and it is a race to get as many as we can with no purpose in mind. This is known by millions of women all over the world and we cant let the team down now can we ?

another market for bubbachenille

On Sunday I braved my first market for the year. It started out very overcast and gloomy and cold too would you believe. I thought winter had come early. With grandbabies visiting, they were unprepared for the cold weather too. The stallholder next to me, aunty moo, had a spare velvet tablecloth that made a beautiful blanket for a baby!! Note to everyone who ever visits Toowoomba, no matter what time of the year, be prepared for a different season to the one you are actually in!! Otherwise the day was a promising sign of things to come, maybe we aren't heading towards a recession. (dirty R word!)

I think there were about 40 stalls, not bad for a January, it will only get better! My new canopy worked a treat too giving me lots more hanging space

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well hello and a happy new year! My second attempt this morning at posting on the blog..I think optus was having a hissy fit!

I have been sewing madly since we returned from Noosa as I have a big year ahead and want to get a head start. I want to do lots of markets and especially new ones I haven't done before, like the Bristyle Market at Hamilton. (I dont even know where Hamilton is!) I am also so excited about the next two weekends, this Sunday the first Queens Park market in Toowoomba and then on Australia Day with The Handmade Expo at Jondaryan Woolsheds...I'm pumped! Hope the wind dies down in the mean time as chenille blowing all over the paddock is not a good look!

I can't wait for Jondaryan to catch up with everyone from the Handmade Expo from last year, feels like they are old friends now and all the new stallholders/new friends who are coming too, Handmade Expo virgins!! Organsing The Handmade Expo is a hoot too and this year we will be going further afield, firstly to Jondaryan, then in April to Goondiwindi and a graet new one in another country town which I cant announce yet, but avid Handmade Expo goers will be thrilled and thats in july. We are also looking at new venues for the future where we can have much bigger events so as not to dissapoint the seemingly endless stallholders on the waiting list. Imagine going from 100 to 200 stalls of handmade only market...I mean am I living the dream or what?

Any way back to chenille...check out the pics and if your sewing space is messier then I'd like to see that!

Merry Christmas

I would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a safe, prosperous and happy 2009!
I have seen so many fantastic blogs in recent times I have really been inspired and I think one of my things to do in 2009 is to be a better blogger.

See you at the Handmade Expo at the Jondaryan Woolsheds on Australia Day.
There will be over 50 stalls of gorgeous handmade only goodies.
The entry fee has been reduced to $2 per person for the day and promises to be a great family day out.
All the usual Aussie day activities, ceremonies, kids games, aussie tucker etc will be there for you and your family to enjoy.
Hope to see you there!

Xmas xtravaganza expo huge success

Saturdays expo was so amazing, so much fun for the grand finale for 2008.

1250 special customers came to look and purchase from 97 talented stallholders,
handmade heaven if you ask me.
We all had a nice time admiring the firemen! and I think they enjoyed themselves too!

I woke up this morning to an email from a reporter from the Melbourne Age wanting to use my luggage tags (selling on madeit.com.au) in a story in about 2 weeks in the Sunday Age.
Naturally I was thrilled and very excited.
Here are some pics from the Handmade Expo last Saturday. My two daughters, the other two Handmade Expo co- ordinators in the bottom pic with Bruce, above that, myself with Bruce and Dale and on the left 3D dinosaurs.
It was very hot in the pavilion!

The Handmade Expo

This is our new bit of publicity for The Handmade Expo, it was a bit of fun and all I can say is that at least we don't have to take it down, do you know where it is?

Chenille Teddies to die for !!!!

This was the view from the table at breakfast in Coffs Harbour, it was very hard to come home from this. It was such a beautiful spot and the wedding was perfect.
Also meet my new best friends (that I will sell to anyone because I'm in to sharing!) They are the softest teddies you've ever felt and made from chenille (not by me though) would be a lovely first teddy.
